2020-21 E-Learning Program
STA is offering an e-learning program taught by our faculty to STA students for the 2020-21 school year for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The goal of our e-learning program is to best replicate the learning experience that our students receive in our school building. While we recognize that there are certain components of in-person learning that cannot look the same on-line, we have worked hard to develop a robust e-learning program that works to ensure our students receive the same learning outcomes students would reach when receiving in-person instruction.
Students will receive live instruction throughout the day on Zoom, which will help to emulate an in-person school day as much as possible by helping the students connect and build community with each other and their teacher. Our e-learning students will access and submit their assignments using one of STA’s learning management systems: Seesaw or Google Classroom. E-Learning students will be held accountable for completing their work and receive grades on their assignments just as the students in the in-person learning program will. Our teachers are prioritizing instruction in the core subject areas of English language arts, math and religion for both in-person learning and e-learning students.
There are currently three different models that we are using throughout the different grade levels. A description of each and a sample schedule are outlined below.
1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades
Students receive direct instruction from two grade level teachers in all core subject areas throughout the day. Each teacher is departmentalized and provides direct instruction over Zoom to the whole class and to small groups.
Kindergarten and 2nd Grade
Students receive direct instruction from one teacher in all core subject areas throughout the day. The teacher’s whole class lessons will be live streamed through Zoom. The teacher will work with small groups of students over Zoom during the day.
Middle School – 6th, 7th and 8th Grades
Students receive direct instruction from each middle school teacher in all core subject areas throughout the day. All middle school teachers are departmentalized. They will provide whole class instruction and work with small groups of students on Zoom.
Our e-learning students also participate in various school-wide community building activities and virtual events to help strengthen their connection with their in-person learning classmates. These include: weekly virtual Motivation Monday meetings led by school administration, a weekly virtual prayer service, and monthly all school virtual Community Celebrations. In addition, e-learning students receive instruction from our physical education teacher and social emotional learning teacher. Each teacher posts lessons for the students every day to help them grow physically and emotionally.
Students who participate in the e-learning program will receive an “e-learning kit” that will include the student’s textbooks and workbooks. In addition, students who need a device in order to participate in the e-learning program can borrow one from the school.

“I would like to share with you the AWESOME job that the teachers have been doing throughout this e-learning process. They have made this an effortless and smooth transition. They do not hesitate to answer any questions from both parents and students. They make it a priority to keep the kids as connected as possible during these times. Their efforts and plans to make learning for the children their top priority has been truly a blessing and I just wanted to “CONGRATULATE” [STA] ON A JOB WELL DONE. I know that I can truly speak for both myself, my children, and the STA parents that WE ARE HONORED TO BE APART OF SUCH GREATNESS.”
