Visit STA

1st grade girl first day of school

PLEASE NOTE:

On Friday, March 13th, the Archdiocese of Chicago announced a system wide closure of Catholic Schools beginning Monday, March 16th. At this time, the Archdiocese has not determined how long this closure will last. We are not scheduling shadow and tour visits at this time and will waive this requirement as part of the admissions process for the time being. We will share any updates regarding school resuming when we are able. Please contact our Admissions Coordinator, Tareema Jean-Baptiste, if you are interested in applying to St. Thomas the Apostle School at this time.

Thank you for understanding!

We pray you and your family remain safe and healthy.

Tours and Shadow Visits

Tours and Shadow visits allow prospective families to experience what a typical day at STA is like. All families should plan to attend a parent tour and have their child(ren) complete a shadow visit before receiving an application for admission.

Students will shadow in the classroom for their current grade level on the day of their visit.

Pre-K & K: students will shadow for 1 hour while their parents take a tour of the school. Students and parents should arrive to the office 15 minutes prior to their tour time. Families who show up late may need to re-schedule their visit.

1st – 8th grade students: shadow for the entire school day. Parents are encouraged to take their tour on the same day as their child’s shadow day. Students shadowing in 1st-8th grades must arrive to the school office by 8:15 am. Parents should plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to their tour time. Families who show up late may need to re-schedule their visit.

Families should sign-up for these visits in advance here. Our Admissions Coordinator, Tareema Jean-Baptiste will confirm your visit. Please allow 72 hours advance notice so that the teachers can be prepared for your visit. We look forward to your visit!

Open Houses

Prospective Family Open Houses
Open Houses offer prospective families the opportunity to learn about the faith-based environment and academic curriculum, as well as getting a tour of the building. The principal, assistant principal, teachers, and parent and student ambassadors are present to answer any questions you may have. Below are the open house dates STA will host in 2020. These open houses are intended for families interested in enrolling their children for the 2020-21 school year.

The Open House on April 8, 2020 has been postponed. We will post the new date as soon as we know when we can re-schedule.
