Extended Care Program
St. Thomas the Apostle offers both before and after school care for STA students in Prekindergarten through 8th grade. The Extended Care Program provides security, supervision, recreation, and enrichment activities for children within a faith-based environment. The supervisory ratio does not exceed 10 students per adult.
Morning Care, available between 7:00 am and 7:45 am, is held
in the pre-kindergarten classroom (Room 108) and is supervised by a faculty member. Afternoon Care, located in the cafeteria, is open
from 3:45 pm – 6:00 pm (2:45 pm – 6:00 pm on Wednesdays). Students attending Afternoon Care have the opportunity to have a snack, complete homework, play outside, and engage in crafts, games or other relaxing activities. Extended Care remains available to STA families when morning delays occur due to weather as well as on early dismissal days. The program is not open during Christmas Vacation or Spring Break.
The cost for either the morning or afternoon Extended Care Program is $1.50 per 15 minutes per child. Any part of 15 minutes will be considered
such and charged accordingly. Starting at 6:01 pm, a late fee of $1.00 per minute is incurred. Families are encouraged to register for the Extended Care Program when they complete their financial contract at the time of registration.
